   Research area
Structural investigation of crystalline inclusion compounds (host-guest complexes or clathrates) by X-ray diffraction method. Studying objects are clathrates of gossypol and its derivatives, cyclotriveratrylene, cyclodextrins, calix-arenes, crown-ethers and etc.
   Important results
It is discovered an unique host ability of biologically active natural compound gossypol.

It is established a great tendency of clathrates of versatile host compounds to pseudopolymorphic behavior and formulated new rule correlating structures and formation conditions of individual modifications: the high crystallization temperature of the clathrate modification the more close is space occupied by guest molecules.
   Practical application of results

Topological control of pseudopolymorphic clathrates.

An effective solid-state reaction of asymmetric monoaminoderivatives on the matrix of gossypol organic zeolite.

Biopharmaceutical optimization of biologically active host compounds.
   Plans for future
Checking of the formulated rule on the example of other versatile hosts.

Isolation of other gossypol-related pigments from cotton seeds and study of their biological and host properties.

Working out of methodology for preparation of nanoporous materials by decomposition of unstable clathrates.
